Speech Therapy
It is the study of disorders that affect your child’s speech, language, voice, cognitive powers, non-verbal communication such as facial expressions and gestures as well as swallowing.
Speech Therapists focus on receptive language skills, the ability to understand words spoken to your child and their ability to express language in return. They deal with the mechanics of speech, volume, pitch, articulation and fluency

These therapists provide screening, consultation, assessment and diagnosis, treatment, intervention and management to better help your child to communicate effectively.

Therapists seek to find out what problems are addressing your child’s speech production or vocal production. Based on the nature of your child’s ailment, common treatments can range from physical strengthing exercises, instructive or repetitive drills, audio-visual aids, picture symbols or hand signs and a plan to effectively help your child communicate.
